Incoming Students


Students wishing to study at the University of Telecommunications and Posts, Sofia (UTP) within the framework of Erasmus+programme, have to contact Erasmus coordinator at the home university. When the students has been nominated by the home university, he/she has to send application to University of Telecommunications and Posts.


Email the following documents to before the application deadline (see below).
All forms must be filled out in English, preferably filled out on a computer, and not hand-written.

1. Nomination Letter

A ‘Nomination Letter’ is a document issued by your institution’s Erasmus coordinator. The letter must contain the following: name, gender, field of study at your home institution, your email address.

2. Application Form

Use the following application form.

3. Learning Agreement

Fill out the Learning Agreement and have it approved by both your home department and Erasmus coordinator.
Students enrolling in a traineeship should fill out the Learning Agreement for Traineeships.

5. Proof of your English language competence

This should be a certificate issued by either your university’s language department or an equivalent organization. We require at minimum proficiency of B1.

Summer Semester – 30 November


Students coming from EU countries do not need visa. Other international students can get information about visa application procedure at the Bulgarian embassies or consulates in their home countries or they can consult the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Health insurance

Students from EU/EEA countries must have health insurance coverage from their home country. The European Health Insurance Card certifies that you are entitled to necessary medical treatment during temporary stays in other EEA countries, Switzerland and Macedonia. You can receive medical treatment from a doctor or an outpatient care centre, which has concluded a contract with the National Health Insurance Fund.
If you decide to use private health insurance you have to check with your insurance office as to whether your coverage applies to Bulgaria. You must bring the European Health Insurance Card or documentation of private health insurance when you enter Bulgaria.
