The management of the University of Telecommunications and Post held a working meeting with the new Rector and expert team from Alexander Giuvani University (Elbasan, Albania).
The official visit was initiated by Prof. Dr. Elvira Fetahu with the aim of deepening the partnership between the two universities on the basis of the common Memorandum of Cooperation signed in early 2024. It provides for an exchange of students, professors, academic members and researchers; exchange of training materials; organisation of seminars and scientific conferences; development of joint programmes and support for transnational accreditation of programmes. “I have been a Rector for 6 months and this will be my focus – to develop the relationship with your university as well as with the Bulgarian institutions in general. This is the wish of the academic staff – to build deeper links with you”, said Prof. Fetahu.
“I congratulate you on your new Posts! I am convinced that women are more adaptable, more flexible and are better visionaries. So I expect that we will work together in a purely feminine way and that you will really achieve what you planned at the beginning of your term of office in terms of the internationalisation of your university.” – with these words Prof. Temelkova welcomed her Albanian colleague.
The two Rectors and their teams discussed the potential for cooperation between the two universities in different fields, including: internationalisation, capacity building and other European projects, diploma pairing, international conferences, R&D in different fields, joint activities, student and staff mobility. The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.
It was decided to create a common operational working group to find common points and common projects on which the two universities can partner.
The meeting was attended by Elvira Fetahu (Rector of Alexander Giuvani University (Elbasan, Albania), Prof. Ardian Durmishi, Prof. Blerina Bakhiti, Prof. Mikel Chennai, and by the UTP attended by Prof. Dr. Miglena Temelkova (Rector of the UTP), Prof. Dr. Eng.
