Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pavlinka Radoyska and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lyubov Ilieva from the University of Telecommunications and Posts participated in the first event of its kind in Bulgaria dedicated to the prospects for peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula

The National Council for Peaceful Unification of the Korean Peninsula (PUAC, a constitutional body under the direct authority of the President of the Republic of Korea for Public Diplomacy and Advocacy for Peace and Unification of the Korean Peninsula) – Bulgaria Branch, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bulgaria, the UNWE and the Scientific Research Center for Disaster Risk Reduction at the UNWE, organized an international seminar dedicated to the prospects for peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula.

The event was held on 12 June 2025 in a hybrid format at the Maxima Aula of UNWE.

Distinguished guest speakers from the United States, the EU, the United Kingdom, China, Japan and Bulgaria presented a variety of perspectives on the unification of Korea, looking at geopolitical dynamics, human rights, cultural aspects and international cooperation.

The program also included a panel discussion with Bulgarian scientists and media representatives, as well as a presentation of the results of a sociological survey on public attitudes towards the unification of the Korean Peninsula in Bulgaria.
